After defending his PhD-thesis with the title ” On the Mechanisms of Structure Formation in Nodular Cast Iron” in 1997, Magnus Wessén has devoted his time to the foundry industry in various positions. He has combined his academic career at Jönköping University, where he currently holds a part time position as Associate Professor, with commercial activities related to casting simulation as well as to semi-solid casting.
He is today the agent for the casting simulation program MAGMASOFT® in the Nordic countries (Swefos AB) but also supporting the growing request for high quality aluminum castings produced by rheocasting through his company RheoMetal AB.
