My name is Philipp Kolbe and I have been concentrating on oxide fiber composites since 2018 at Schunk Kohlenstofftechnik. Combining my knowledge about the automotive industry especially the foundry industry through my diploma studies in vehicle construction, materials and components at TU Bergakademie Freiberg with Oxide Fiber Composites (Durafox Ceramics), we have succeeded in developing an innovation for foundry processes for the aluminum casting industry.
As an application engineer I am responsible for the development and design of parts and auxiliary agents made of Durafox Ceramics and I am looking forward to establish those parts as a real game changer for the processing of aluminum casting.

Oxide Fiber Composites for Aluminum Casting

Technical parts are subjected to an extreme load during the processing of aluminum melts in heavily corrosive and oxidizing environments, while at high temperatures and subjected to great fluctuations in temperature. System parts and auxiliary agents made of Oxide Fiber Composites (OFC) have a significantly higher service life under such conditions than parts made of conventional materials.
