Block Cylinder with Position Monitoring
Hydropneu offers a very compact block cylinder with position monitoring. This is done with the help of roller switches, which should reliably interrogate the desired cylinder positions.
In principle, hydraulic block cylinders are probably the most compact way of exploiting the enormous power density of hydraulics. Due to their design, they are generally used for short strokes of up to approx. 100 mm, whereby larger strokes can also be realized. The cubic design allows easy installation even in difficult and narrow spaces.
One type of position sensing here is mechanical roller switches. According to the manufacturer Hydropneu, these are very robust and approved for comparatively high temperatures. The switching currents can also be very high. The actuation of the switches by cams screwed to a rail should enable the switching points to be adjusted. This allows production processes to be adapted to changing conditions.
These block cylinders are widely used, for example, in mould making for plastic injection moulding or die casting. In aluminum die casting it is often used as a squeezing cylinder. The seals and switches are designed by Hydropneu in this case for higher temperatures than usual in normal industrial applications. Due to the adjustability of the switching points, the squeezing process can be adapted and optimized during production.
The Hydropneu Type 57 series usually forms the basis on which the cylinder is adapted and optimized according to customer requirements.
