Sputtering Components Inc. (SCI) has been taken over by the Bühler Group. SCI is a US-based supplier of components and assemblies for large-surface vacuum coating systems. In the future, the company will operate as an independent business unit of the vacuum coating division of Bühler Leybold Optics. Antonio Requena, CEO of Bühler Leybold Optics, is pleased with the successful acquisition: "We have worked closely with SCI for many years. “Together we have achieved a leading market position, especially with coating systems for architectural glass. That is why we are proud to welcome the SCI team, with its expertise, its market reputation, and its commitment for high-quality products, to the Bühler group." The company, with more than 40 employees, will continue to be managed by the current management team.
