2017 was a successful year for the Bühler Group: The company registered a growth in order intake, sales, and EBIT. Especially, the Advanced Materials division is expecting robust growth.

2017 has obviously been a successful fiscal year for the Bühler Group: preliminary figures show that the Swiss technology group increased its organic order intake by ten percent to approx. $ 2.9 billion, sales by nine percent to $ 2.8 billion and EBIT by 18 % to $ 218 million.
According to the company, both divisions are responsible for the strong growth: Grains & Food increased order intake and sales by seven percent; Advanced Materials is reported to have increased order intake by 21 % to $ 714,5 million and sales by 19 % to $ 681 million.
New Process for Producing Battery Paste
Bühler Group has also launched a new process for the production of battery paste, a key component in lithium-ion batteries. Bühler's continuous mixing process is said to be unique in the industry: raw material dosing, premixing, mixing of fine dispersions, and degassing are carried out in a single unit. In 2017, the Chinese battery manufacturer Lishen has supposedly commissioned the first ten industrial-scale production lines and received further orders.
The Advanced Materials division comprises three business units: Die Casting, Grinding & Dispersion and Leybold Optics. Die Casting supplies components for the aerospace and automotive industries; Grinding & Dispersion specializes in production lines for paints, print products and batteries for electric cars.
