Eureka Metallurgy Europe Cluster: Ole Köser Becomes the New Chairman
Eureka Metallurgy Europe Cluster has appointed Ole Köser, Head of the Center of Excellence for Casting and Metallurgy at ESI Group, as its new Chairman. He succeeds David John Jarvis, who left the cluster earlier this year.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the field of casting and metallurgy, Ole Köser joins the European Metallurgy Board of Directors to promote cooperation between academia and industry in the field of metallurgy at a European level. The cluster promotes innovative and industry-focused projects within the Eureka network.
Developing Customer-Specific Solutions
Involved in various European projects, ESI has always been supporting the development of casting and metallurgy on an international level. In order to reinforce this commitment, the software developer opened a Center of Excellence for these areas many years ago. Thanks to close interaction with key players in the casting and metallurgy sectors, the ESI team has realized many innovative projects. These projects are funded by the state or the industry and aims at developing customer-specific solutions.
Ole Köser started his career 20 years ago at Hardtop Giessereitechnologie GmbH where he supported casting simulations for the German casting industry. Today, he is a guarantor of ESI's vision in this area. In 2003, he became part of the ESI Group and has since been running ESI's Center of Excellence for Casting and Metallurgy. He has been a partner or work package leader in various local and EU projects and has published several publications, mainly on the modeling of industrial casting processes, the casting and design value chain, TiAl centrifugal casting and the modeling of component ejection in pressure die casting.
“I would like to thank my predecessor, David John Jarvis, for his great commitment to establishing the European Metallurgy Cluster. It is a great honor for me to continue the activities of such a dynamic chairman," says Ole Köser. “With the team's help, we will continue to drive forward the momentum of Metallurgy Europe to support the development of innovative approaches in the field of metallurgy. Since the cluster is still in its start-up phase, there will be a strong focus on launching and planning new projects."
In his new role at the Eureka Cluster, Ole Köser will promote the creation of transnational projects to create new and innovative metallic materials and products, develop advanced manufacturing processes and promote academic research in Europe.
