New alloys, digitalization, additive manufacturing and electromobility are topics that are currently of great interest to the die casting industry. So it’s not surprising that there is a lot of research being done in these areas where innovative solutions and new approaches are being pursued. Through the EUROGUSS Talent Award, NürnbergMesse aims to recognize outstanding final degree papers and reward the emerging talent of the future. The papers can cover topics such as innovations, improvements or new applications in die casting and the entire supply chain. Submissions will be accepted until the end of October. The winners will be officially announced at EUROGUSS 2020, which will take place at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 14 to 16 January 2020.
Graduates with bachelor’s or master’s degrees can submit the topic of their papers for consideration for the EUROGUSS Talent Award in the form of an abstract in German or English. The award is designed to acknowledge emerging talent in the die casting sector. It is a condition of entry that the paper must have been completed by the time it is submitted. In addition, applicants need a testimonial from a university, other tertiary education establishment, research institute or company. The closing date for entries is 30 November 2019.
“We are already looking forward to receiving lots of entries with innovative projects and research results,” says Christopher Boss, Director and International Project Manager of EUROGUSS. “We would also like to explicitly encourage international students to get involved and cordially invite them to EUROGUSS 2020,” Boss continues.
An international panel of experts, consisting of representatives from the R&D community and industry, will select the best papers. The winners will be informed by 6 December 2019 at the latest, and the official announcement and awards ceremony will take place during EUROGUSS 2020 in Nuremberg.
Naturally, the winners can also look forward to attractive prizes. The prize bundle comprises flight, hotel and trade fair ticket as well as an iPad with Apple Pencil. Moreover, the winning graduates can present their work to the EUROGUSS trade audience in the exhibition forum and will also have the opportunity to publish an article about their work at SPOTLIGHTMETAL.
