The EUROGUSS Talent Award was presented for the first time. The award ceremony was held on the first day of the EUROGUSS, 14th January 2020. The winners come from Germany, Spain and Mexico.

During EUROGUSS 2020 the four winners of the Talent Award were presented and got the chance to showcase their work to the interested trade audience. The prize bundle includes a travel package and hotel accommodation for EUROGUSS 2020, a lecture at the EUROGUSS Speakers' Corner, the publication of a professional article about the work on the industry platform SPOTLIGHTMETAL and an iPad (32 GB) incl. Apple Pencil.

The well deserved winners are:

  • Marvin Emde, University of Kassel (Germany) with the topic "Potentials for die-cast components through wall thickness optimization"
  • Marius Kohlhepp, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) with the topic "Influence of the alloy composition on the mould bonding behaviour of an AlSi7Mg die casting alloy"
  • Ane Jimenez Zabaleta, Tecnalia Research & Innovation (Spain) with the topic "New HPDC alloys to address automotive industries requirements for the vehicle of the future"
  • Denis Ariel Ávila Salgado, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (Mexico) with the topic "Influence of B, Nb and Zr on hardness and wear resistance in copper alloys for the manufacture of plunger tips used in Die Casting"
