What will the foundry industry of the future look like? Can production be increased by means of intelligent value creation? And how flexible can process management really be guided by Smart Data? All of these questions were answered at this year's symposium "Digitalization in the Foundry Industry" at the beginning of October, organized by Prof. Schlüter of Ansbach University.
FAPS-IPC GmbH, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schlüter of Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, is organizing a symposium on the subject of "Digitization in the Foundry Industry". The German-speaking event will take place from 09 to 10 October 2019 in Nuremberg.
Energy efficiency measures in industry are more important than ever due to the energy transition and the global competitive situation. This applies in particular to energy-intensive foundries. Simulation-supported preliminary examinations offer melting and die casting companies the opportunity to assess in advance the effectiveness of possible measures to improve efficiency without influencing production.
The industry supplier pressmetall Gunzenhausen GmbH in cooperation with the University of Ansbach introduced a new IT solution for a digital production image. Its customized dashboards significantly improve production planning and control. The solution lays the foundation for further digitization measures.
