Copper inventories: The copper inventories at LME have continued to decline lately: in total, about 100,000 tons left LME warehouses. At the end of November 2017, inventories at the SHFE were around 189,000 tons. Inventories at the SHFE have fallen since their peak level: they now stand at just under 165,000 tons, while Comex inventories have risen to 209,000 tons. The worldwide stock lasts for about 9 days. Mine production, which is expected to pick up in 2018 as well as free capacities should improve the supply situation, which is likely to put pressure on prices. The supply of used copper for recycling production is also expected to improve.
