Environmental Protection Joining Forces to Develop Environmentally Friendly Binder Systems
Editor: Nicole Kareta
The foundry industry needs pragmatic solutions which are both economically feasible and make a significant contribution to reducing the industry’s ecological footprint. Against this backdrop, Hüttenes-Albertus and Reinsicht have joined forces to draw up an environmentally responsible plan.
Reinsicht has the goal to make a decisive contribution to the protection of the environment by developing environmentally friendly industrial adhesives.
High time and cost pressure, increasingly complex castings, highly networked global markets and the greatest task of our time: sustainably protecting our environment and natural resources – these are the central challenges for the foundry industry around the world.
In the German foundry market Reinsicht has the goal to make a decisive contribution to the protection of the environment by developing environmentally friendly industrial adhesives. “Ecology and environmental protection is our duty, economic growth is in our best interest”, says Reinsicht’s Managing Director, Ivo Herzog.
Over the last few years, Reinsicht has developed solutions for 3D sand printing and a range of other applications. A number of their solutions have already been successfully established in the market. In order to accelerate the development and deployment of low pollution, low emission, resource-saving binder systems and to promote them internationally, Reinsicht was looking for a strong partner to cooperate with.
The choice fell on Hüttenes-Albertus (HA). The company has been a global supplier of foundry chemical products and services for decades. As a family-owned company, HA has always been able to exercise freedom in product development and marketing, which has enabled it to break new ground and open up new markets.
In order to pool their strengths and resources, HA and Reinsicht have agreed to cooperate in the development, production and marketing of sustainable binder systems. Reinsicht will focus on research for low-emission and zero-emission technologies, while HA will be responsible for adapting these new technologies to product and process requirements, industrial-scale production and worldwide marketing.
Franz Friedrich Butz, Managing Director of HA, says: “By combining the strengths of our two companies, we are taking a significant step towards achieving our goal of supplying foundries with environmentally-friendly solutions for core, mold and 3D printing production, thus making an effective contribution to sustainability throughout the foundry industry”.
