Automotive Supplier Nemak Supplies New Battery Housings for the Mustang Mach-E

Nemak, one of the leading providers of innovative lightweighting solutions for the global automotive industry, announced it will supply battery housings for the new Ford Mustang Mach-E to be produced in North America.
Nemak´s battery housing consists of a 2.2 by 1.5 meter structure of aluminum parts, mainly stampings and extrusions, which will be joined together using state-of-the-art robotic welding, adhesive application, and self-piercing riveting processes.
Nemak will produce this component at a facility that will be fully dedicated to the assembly of e-mobility applications. The investment for the first phase of this facility is approximately US$25 million with the flexibility to scale up based on customer demand.
