One way to update the HPDC product portfolio are innovative lightweight components and specific use of material properties. This study describes the potentials of HPDC components with optimized wall thicknesses by using modern simulation tools. A vehicle armrest is new developed as HPDC component with wall thickness of 0.8 mm.
Battery housings play a central role in the electrification of vehicles. In addition to the classic aluminum cast solution for a battery housing, Nemak also offers assembly solutions that require know-how in the field of joining techniques. At EUROGUSS 2020, Nemak highlighted typical problem areas in BEV battery housings and demonstrated approaches to delivering tailor-made solutions.
Release agents are of central significance in die casting technology. They affect the quality of the cast parts, the lifetime of the molds and the length of the casting cycles. Release agents must be matched with the respective casting material and should meet high requirements in terms of economic efficiency and environmental compatibility.
The winners of the EUROGUSS Talent Award have been decided and will be announced on the first day of the fair. The awards ceremony will be held on 14th January 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in Speakers’ Corner in Hall 8 (booth 8-524). This is also where the winners will present their submissions afterwards.
The market for additive manufacturing is growing very fast and strongly worldwide in various different areas and applications. Key markets include the aerospace industry, health care including medical technology and the automotive industry. Thus, additive manufacturing holds great potential also for die casting foundries.
Following its successful premiere, EUROGUSS ASIA PACIFIC goes into its second round as part of the Metal AP metal industry exhibition from 12th-14th December 2019 at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand. Industry experts and local partners will present trends, innovations and information on developments in the Thai foundry market.
2019 is the year in which 3D printing has finally arrived in the production halls. For foundries, this technology has a lot to offer and science is working intensively to advance it. EUROGUSS 2020 will dedicate a pavilion to Additive Manufacturing.
The handling of data-oriented business processes is today a central building block for the success of companies. An open space discussion at this year's Net.Law.S focuses precisely on this topic. The German conference for the digitization of the economy takes place from 5th to 6th November 2019 in Nuremberg, Germany.
New alloys, digitization, additive production and electromobility are currently a major concern for the die casting industry. It is therefore not surprising that a lot of research is being done in these areas. The EUROGUSS Talent Award is intended to reward outstanding theses and tomorrow's junior employees.
With 15 % more visitors and 11 % more exhibitors, CHINA DIECASTING 2019 concluded three successful days on a completely positive note. The die casting trade fair attracted some 18,671 trade visitors who learned all about the latest trends and developments from the around 450 exhibitors. The next CHINA DIECASTING will take place from 15 to 17 July 2020 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
