Battery Boxes Rheinmetall Automotive Receives Major Order

KS Huayu Alutech, a member of Rheinmetall Automotive, has been awarded a major contract to manufacture components for battery boxes made of die-cast aluminium. The total order volume is € 65 million.

According to the company, the components weigh around nine kilograms and are used as carriers for the battery cells of two electric vehicles — an SUV and a powerful sports saloon. Both vehicles have a pure electric drive. They are currently destined for the European market. Production for this order is scheduled to start in mid-2018.
