The order is for a structural component worth just as much as EUR 60 million, which will serve as a rear longitudinal member with integrated suspension strut and axle mount in one of the premium manufacturer's vehicles. The component will be used in models with internal combustion engines and plug-hybrids, and fully electric variants.
Series deliveries for the die cast aluminum part will begin in 2024, and the order will run for eight years. Production will occur at KS HUAYU AluTech's German headquarters in Neckarsulm following the "local for local" principle favouring short delivery times and an environmentally friendly carbon footprint.
The order is essential for the supplier because it underlines its new strategic orientation as an expert in large, highly complex structural castings for both conventional and new forms of a drive. Overall, KS HUAYU impressed the customer above all with the overall technical concept surrounding the highly integrative cast product, which will replace several subassemblies and individual parts in the future.
