As reported by the German-speaking news Südkurier and Insolvenz-Portal, the transaction includes fixed and current assets as well as the intangible assets of the company. No information was provided about the purchase price and the economic conditions.
At the Roding (Germany) location all 110 jobs are to be taken over. However, of the last 126 employees in Plauen (Germany), only 63 can be kept on as a result of the transaction.
Dr. Roger Breu, Managing Director of Weber Holding GmbH commented on the takeover as follows: "[...] Our industry is in the midst of a major transformation, for which it needs a solid foundation. The purchase of the Schweizer Group represents a strategic milestone for us to position ourselves strongly as a system supplier. As the quality standards and technological thinking of both companies fit together excellently, we have decided to take this step despite difficult general conditions. We have the utmost respect for the team's expertise and have already had extremely positive experiences working with them as a customer. The upcoming transformation is an enormous challenge over the next years and decades, and with the integration of the Schweizer Group we see ourselves ideally positioned for this."
